Phase 0: Classification
Before starting, classify the question:

Phase 1.5: Hypothesis Formation
Generate 3-5 testable hypotheses:
- •What are the likely answers?
- •What evidence would confirm/disconfirm each?
- •Track probability as evidence accumulates
Phase 2: Retrieval Planning
- •Break into 3-7 subquestions
- •Plan search queries for each
- •Identify source types needed
- •Set budgets (max searches, max docs)
Phase 3: Iterative Querying
- •Execute parallel searches
- •Score sources (authority, rigor, relevance)
- •Fetch and extract content
- •Update hypothesis probabilities
Phase 4: Source Triangulation
The 2-Source Rule:
- •Critical claims need 2+ independent sources
- •If sources cite the same origin → that's 1 source, not 2
- •Contradictions must be documented, not hidden
